It's Been Awhile

Yeah, I know.  Its been difficult to get internet constantly and when I do the quality is sub par and comparable to the early stages of dial-up at best.  Think Napster slow when trying to download a song back in '99.  Anyways, I have experienced some difficulty trying to secure the most basic necessities of life, that of maslow's lower tier on the hierarchy of needs: shelter.  Shelter is hard to come by in this big-but-not so populated city.  Although i have been here for nearly a month, a pad to call my own is something still if a dream.
I have looked, o brothers, i have looked.  I have teamed up with my collegue and long time friend Scott Kroha to search for an abode that will comfortable suit our needs and fit the bill.  This is harder then expected, as we have spent many-a-day searching the streets of Sydney for a place.  A few have been found but nothing worth while.  I will keep you posted as out search continues.
Aside from that, not much has been happening.  I have moved (temporarly) to Manly beach in Sydney to get continue my search as well as get a few waves here and there.  Employment will come after settling as it's hard to pursue a job without an address.  SO, once I do get a humble abode to call my own, then Internet will surely follow, which will allow for my blog to be poseted and decorated with pictures and daily updates, which will then allow for a steady hunt for a job to continue.  I wll keep you updated on the housing situation until then.

Surfin A-U-S

Just realized that surfing' U S A is a lot like Surfin' A U S, same letters.  Any ways, got the chance to surf the last 3 days in a row, 2 of them at this spot called bungin (i think thats how you spell it) along the northern beaches and yesterday at Manly.  It was pretty good.  The beaches here are very nice, and lack the development/ concrete that the "beautiful" beaches in Southern California are accliamed for.  Once more, the water here is warmer then the water back home during summer, and its winter here.  Here is a picture from two days ago at Bungin:
It was a fun day, however my mate, Torin, brought two boards but only 3 fins.  So i was riding a 6' 8" thruster with a single fin, but it was still fun.
This shot was of today.  A little bit bigger, about overhead to double overhead but really fun.  Hopefully more waves to come!

One Week Down

One week down plus a few days in Australia.  So far its been good: have met up with old friends, showed some friends from USD around, looked at places to live, and surfed.  Been good.  Its nice to come out here and have some friends that treat me as family.  This weekend consisted of hanging out with some USD friends in Manly and a good friends 21st b-day on saturday, also a penthouse on the 56th floor of a building in downtown Sydney.  Pretty epic.  So its been good.  Ill try to put some pictures up this week from the waves and the weekend.
